Artist Bio:
Having started performing as a singer songwriter in her teens, Emma left the UK for Madrid and joined Anglo/Spanish band Monotone, releasing an LP, Gravity on Spanish label Artika, to a great press and fan base reception.
Becoming disillusioned with the workings of the label, Emma
started playing solo shows in Europe with the likes of Dan Bern.
On returning to the UK she co-founded Impatio Sound with the intention of producing material on her own terms. Initially releasing an EP 5th November in 2001, Emma then started work on her debut album, attempting to fuse the emotional directness and heartfelt vocals of singers such as Ani Difranco, with the power and sonic excitement of PJ Harvey. Recorded with her band, Joe Jardine (bass) and Kevin Behan rums), Kamikaze Birdie was released on Impatio Sound in September 2004, with UK distribution through Universal.
At the end of 2004 Emma and her band (now christened The Monorails) went back into the studio to record two songs for a 7inch vinyl single released in April 2005. Emma is currently working on her new album and will be touring in Austria later in the year.
