Artist Bio:

Carolyna Loveless is a singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist (guitars, piano, mandolin, hand drums, and percussion) based in Vancouver, B.C. Her live performance is an infusion of modern folk and roots rock. Her writings consist of hundreds of original songs in numerous genres (hard rock to children's songs).

Carolyna has extensive international performance experience. She has fronted or played in a diverse range of bands spanning multiple genres and has performed her original music across four continents

In support of her first solo release, Blue Baby Blue (2003), Carolyna embarked on a 33 city tour across Canada. The recording, produced by Bob Doidge (Gordon Lightfoot, Emmylou Harris, Bruce Cockburn) featured veteran studio musicians Hugh Marsh, Bill Dillon, and John Lewis.

Between '93 and '98, Loveless called Sydney, Australia home where she fronted and produced the rock unit, 'EVE' . The band opened for Amanda Marshall and received national T.V. airplay on ABC's RAGE for the video 'Indie Girl' . Carolyna appeared on the nationally syndicated Andrew Denton Show with Jim Rose (Jim Rose's Side Show) and performed solo on the prime-time television show Sex Life on Australia's national TEN Network. Aussie music industry insider Stuart Coupe (Drum, Q, Rolling Stone Magazine Australia) wrote EVE are one of the most impressive, determined and hard-working new bands to emerge on the Sydney scene over the last couple of years.

South of the border, Loveless spent a year in Nashville, TN ('91/'92) where she played some great clubs opening for Mickey Gilley at Gilley's and Vicki Bird (1991 CMA upcoming artist of the year) at Willy Nelson's , and sat in with UK pickers, 'The Gledhill Brothers' at Gilley's (while they were on tour with Chet Atkins ).

I ran wild and crazy as a young girl in Hay Bay
With a boy as wild as I we would while the day away
Making love out on the boat and behind his Daddy's farm
And the Ferry ride to Picton was a love-fest all its own
I burried him in Adolphustown Park
And with him thought I'd burried my heart
ya ya ya

Well I had my share of hard luck
And I did my share of hard drugs
And I partied with the fast crowd
And I lived my life way too loud
Ran wild in the streets
'till they threw me in an alley and I begged for death to save me
'till a young man scared them off
He held me until morning and we cried myself to slee
And at a roadside stand in Amsterdam
He took my secret to the grave
ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya

Well I'm too young to be bitter and I too young for regret
I'm too young to have dead lovers
And I'm way to young to feel this olde
And I'm too old to give a damn
What Sally sister's boyfriend Frankie said to Annie's uncle Sam
They don't know what you're doing
Who you are or what you know
Thought I'd wander west to find myself and spend my life alone
Then Came You

Now I'm dreaming about forever and I'm living in today
And I'm wondering what it'd feel like
to have your baby in my belly
ya
'cause I'm a kinder gentler girl
When I'm thinking 'bout somebody else more often than myself
I don't know what i did to deserve A LIFE LIKE THIS
I took a wayward ride through Hell to find this Heavenly place
ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya ya YA
