crashtv: It Could Be So Dangerous...

Crashtv called it quits in early 2009 when lead singer Steve Yeates left after 10+ years fronting the band. Brothers Chris Collins and Peter Dahl-Collins continue to produce and remix music for others under the crashtv banner.

The music they made over the years was heavily influenced by 90s artists like Nine Inch Nails, Muse, and Killing Joke. To me, crashtv's signature and finest moments are found in Chris Collins' think-outside-the-box rhythm guitar work. This cut, from their final CD, Sound Put, is not my favorite (for that, check out the kicky moving to industrial "Fingernail" on the band's page at IndieHeart), but showcases that heavy rock guitar work with an incongruously Pop vocal line. A lot of the music they made was like that. Sadly, the band ended just as they were moving away from reliance on their influences into a distinctive sound built on their individual talents.
